Description:A few years ago, I was commissioned by Massachusetts-based concert promotion company, MusicFest Productions, to design the logo for an outdoor music festival sponsored by the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort in Connecticut. The challenge was to create a symbol that reflected the rough-hewn style of the typeface in the sponsor's logo while still remaining contemporary. An online search for ancient petroglyphs (rock carvings) yielded the ideal image which I adapted by repositioning the sun, rotating an arm, and adding a guitar.
